Georgia’s national rail company, Georgian Railway, has awarded a construction contract for the modernisation of the country’s rail network. The GEL150m ($81m) contract includes the modernisation of a route between Batumi and Tbilisi. The work also involves upgrading old wooden sleepers with reinforced concrete structures, according to Trend News Agency.
