Première in France: Dijon tram attributed to a PPP

Grand Dijon metropolitan operator has signed a26-year agreement with private company Ineo, subsidiary of GDF Suez. The contract includes the design, construction, maintenance, concession and providing the electric supply and control equipments for the tram line in Dijon.
The transaction is worth EUR 176 Million. This is the first public-private partnership tasked to developed a tram system in France. Dijon builds a 20-km modern tram network worth EUR 400 Million. The operator in Dijon has already ordered 32 Alstom Citadis trams. Funds for the tram project in Dijon are coming from the European Investment Bank (EUR 18 Million), the French Government (EUR 112 Million) and private investments (EUR 100 Million).

    Georgia’s national rail company, Georgian Railway, has awarded a construction contract for the modernisation of the country’s rail network. The GEL150m ($81m) contract includes the modernisation of a route between Batumi and Tbilisi.
