Romania: Companies interested in installing the ERTMS on Chitila – Crivina section submit offers


On March 3, 2011, several companies submitted offers for the execution of the pilot project for installing the ERTMS on Chitila – Crivina railway section. Offers were submitted at CFR SA’a head office.
Several joint-ventures have submitted offers including the consortium Alstom – Kapsch – Alcatel Lucent, for EUR 31.8 Million, the consortium Thales – Siemens – Nokia Siemens Networks, for EUR 38.2 Million and the consortium Ansaldo – Selex, for EUR 48.2 Million.
Although it contested the tender several times, Chinese company Huawei has decided not to bid after all, after Bombardier has left the joint-venture, sources from the Chinese company declared.
CFR SA will analyze the submitted offers.
The price weighs 35% in the contract assignment, while the technical capacity 65%.
Chitila-Crivina rail section is located on the Bucharest – Câmpina route, part of the pan-European Corridor IV.
