British Government confirms support for HS2

Transport Secretary Justine Greening has insisted that a proposed new high speed rail line in England will be built. She said the link – which will run from London to Manchester and Leeds – was “critical” for the economy.
She dismissed press rumours saying that the scheme was, in effect, dead. The rumours were quoting an unnamed Conservative minister.
