Latvia records growth in industrial production
In May 2012 the industrial production of Latvia reached EUR 646 Million. It grew by 1.9% compared to April 2012 and by 6% compared to May 2011, the National Statistics Bureau announced.
The growth in April 2012 was due to the electricity sector (which increased by 6.3%), but the processing industry recorded a 0.2% downfall and the mining and quarrying a 6.4% downfall.
Compared to May 2011, the industrial production of May 2012 increased by 6%. The processing industry has known a 7.3% growth, the electricity and gas supply a 2.4% growth, while in mining and quarrying there was a decrease of 3.9%.
