Uralvagonzavod and Bombardier plan to sign agreement on launching JV to make railcars

Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) and Bombardier are going to sign a pack of agreements envisaging launching an organisation for metro railcars and trams production, the Russian company has said in its statement.
According to the agreement, the production technologies are to be transferred to Russia, the company’s personnel will be trained at Bombardier’s plants in Europe. It also envisages joint designing and production process organizing.
As planned before, the JV of UVZ and Bombardier for trams production will be launched on the basis of Uraltransmash. UVZ intends to launch three lines to produce different modifications of trams. The parties signed the declaration of intentions in early February.
