Netherlands, Azerbaijan and Denmark in the top of foreign direct investments in Georgia
Azerbaijan ranked second in terms of volume of direct investments in Georgia in 2011, Georgian Statistic Office reported.
Azerbaijan has invested USD 138 Million, representing 12% of all foreign direct investment, in Georgia’s economy,
The Netherlands ranks first in terms of investment in Georgia in 2011 – USD 241.8 Million. Denmark ranks third with USD 97.2 Million.
Russia has invested USD 55.4 Million in Georgia last year.
In total, Georgia has received USD 117.0 Million from investors in 2011, 14% more compared to 2010.
The largest volume of investments in Georgia accounts for the energy sector – USD 204 Million. Growing trend of investing in health care and construction was also observed.
Foreign direct investment totalled 7.8% of GDP in 2011, 0.8% more compared to 2010.
